Fall Management Program
Sleepy Eye Care Center is proud to be a part of a Fall Management Program. The program, funded by a grant from the Department of Human Services, is a coalition of sixteen nursing homes in Minnesota with a goal to better manage falls in the skilled nursing facility. This program looks at a variety of areas that may increase a persons risk for falls. As a family member of a resident in our facility you play an important part in the care of your loved one.

IN2L Technology

Have you seen the new resident-focused computer system at The Sleepy Eye Care Center? It is called "It's Never 2 Late" or IN2L. The system is designed to make computer use easy for our residents. The system can be used for e-mailing to and from residents (each interested resident can have their own e-mail and information file, accessible by touching their picture on the computer screen). Their personal file can contain videos and messages of family members and will be easy for the resident to find and enjoy.

In addition to emails and personal resident files, the IN2L system provides an extensive amount of programming and resources for our recreation staff members to access and use for programs. Some of the programs now available allow recreation staff and residents to take video tours in any country worldwide, enjoy music programs and news from any era in history, hook up a bicycle pedal set and take a ride through the countryside, drive an airplane or car and much, much more. Programs are also available for our therapy department to enhance exercise programs for residents in rehabilitation. And there are educational programs for our staff. The system is portable, so it can also be used at Countryside Retirement Community and in residents' rooms. Please come in and take a look at this new system. We would love to show off our state-of-the-art technology.
